Description (last modified by Gunther Schadow)

At the December 2011 Lab LOINC Meeting, a number of users noted growing interest in using UCUM. Our colleagues from Canada Health Infoway asked about whether it would be possible to setup a regular release cycle for UCUM (perhaps coupled with the typical LOINC release cycle), and additionally would like a mechanism for getting notification that an update is available. What do you think?

Dan, I think it would be great, however, we have very little action and very little funding (Pragmatic Data LLC is the only sponsor at this point). We have to make this as simple as possible. Currently there are no outstanding critical proposals for additional units. Just a few open questions. So, making regular releases won't really add much of anything. Could the LOINC team help with the management of the proposals? And possibly with fighting spam? May be the LOINC team could have an eye on UCUM and weigh in when and what changes should be considered and new releases made?

This ticket is of historical interest. Nothing happened and the spam got worse. I now have control back over the trac site and we will make a 1.9 release. There are outstanding requests that need to be addressed and can be addressed. It is an important milestone to get back on track of credibility.

Version 1.9 has been completed.

Fortunately the spam issue has been well contained since we are not publishing unreviewed tickets any more.
